Feet Number Four

I never thought I would do this many but here I am about to start the fourth one! This past month has been busy with preparing for FEET and also working on the base for the normal things that go on like going to town to get the food. Feet starts on Wed. the 13th. At the moment we have five girls and one guy. We are still praying for more people to come (mainly guys) because we know God has more that are supposed to be here. Why do we need guys, you ask. Well the reason is that it brings more security to the team. The sound system we carry with us through all this is heavy and would be better for a strong guy to handle. There is also one of the main issues, we need someone to play the part of Jesus in our dramas. Most of our dramas need two guys instead of one. Why are there so few guys? That is a question that is asked through out the mission field. There are more girls then guys that go to the mission field as well as in the church I have found. All the years I have gone to camp, same thing. I am not sure the reason why for the church and for camp but for the mission field some believe it is because men don't like to rely on someone else to get their money. They would rather have a stable job then trusting in God. This is understandable, but when it comes to the mission field, you have to learn to trust God to provide. Something the Feet staff are having to do right now.

There are three FEET staff this year. Phyllis, Arianna, and I. In that order. I am the one who is looking after the rest of the team so that the others can lead. I prefer this job, It is more what I am good at. I can lead but only when I have to, at this point in time. This year we are going to four nations.
Thailand, Cambodia, India, and the one up north that I can't say the name to. I have never been to Cambodia before! I am excited to see what God has for us there. I also have not been up north since 2008! I am looking forward to returning! Right now was are preparing dramas and dances, trying to get them worked out before we teach them. I need to prepare a few teachings, one that will need to be ready this next week when It starts. I should get one that... maybe tomorrow! :)
That is it for now. Please be praying for our prep time and for at least one more guy to come.
Thanks
Brit

Home For The Winter

I made the long trip home to beautiful Nebraska at the end of January. Two weeks before my brother got married. Once home I was put to work in helping with the preparation. It was so good to be home and see family and friends! On February 5th my big brother got married! I was in the wedding as a brides maid so i got to wear a long black dress! This dress that i was wearing, from 1:30 to 9:00 was hard to dance in! I Don't think I'll choose a strapless ever again! It was a fun time and there were around 400 people who came. Some say it was the whole town of Mead! Well not quite. My brother and wonderful sister-in-law are living close by so it was fun to hang out with them while I was home.

While I was home I spoke at a few youth groups, churches, and prayer meetings. Focusing on fund raising as well as informing people about missions and how to get involved. I spent two months at home this time around. My family and I played Clue a lot and i only won once...i think my sister cheats!
It was a sad goodbye when it came time to leave. I might have cried a little on the plane. But I'm here now in Hong Kong again and I  will be doing Feet in July! Until then I am working on the base.

Things to pray for would be that i spend my time wisely. That I would be seeking after God for a deeper relationship. I know that God is working on my heart right now and changing things already.

Comm Team

Once Feet finished I had about four days off. Right after I was on a different team preparing for a trip to England and Germany. This was called a communication team, basically to inform Christians in western nations about what is happening in missions and how to be involved.
We stayed in peoples homes and went around to churches demonstrating different tools we use in ministry. It was a fun time! I would do it all again just maybe not in November! It snowed when we were in Germany, enough that we could make snow angels and have snow ball fights! I met some amazing people on this trip and hope that i will see them here some day!

India and Vietnam

We traveled through north India around Darjeeling area. We were surrounded by tea fields that went on for miles! There was one outreach that stands out the most because a lot happened. The team went around the village we were staying in inviting people to come to our program that evening. We had a big crowd surrounding this open air building. During our OR it started to rain but most of them stayed to watch and hear what we had to say. The rain stopped and by then our program was over and we were out talking with the people. So many people asked for prayer for this and that. Mostly for pain that they had or sickness. An amazing thing happened! people right and left were being healed! Then the people that saw the healings were committing their life to Jesus!! God was doing some awesome work that night!

Our team traveled to Vietnam in a place next to the beach. We worked with a Catholic church there. We were able to do a few programs for the youth group. In that time we encouraged them in their personal relationship with God. It was cool to see how eager they were to take in what we said!
After that we traveled back to Hong Kong to finish FEET.

Mountains of Nepal

The Philippines was great, Lots of salvations and healings! In one OR there were 19 healings! praise God! We then moved on to Nepal.

Well we are down from the mountains in Nepal and now in Sherkit Nepal. I'm not sure on the spelling. The mountain experience this year was better then last year. There were more salvations and we could see God moving! God has a lot planed for Jumla! There was a lot of hiking again this year. on our last day we hiked 9 hours! not including the breaks! i am sore...

We hiked about 4-5 hours to the first village that we spent the night. It was raining but it wasn't bad. The whole time i had this joy that could only come from God! The next day we hiked more and then we hiked a little more after that ;) we did and outreach in the rain on a roof top and six people got saved! So many good things and hard things happened but It was worth going. I think it was nine days since my last shower...ha-ha don't worry that was first on my list when we got back ;)

The team is doing well and are for the most part healthy. There is a bad ankle and a few colds. I am doing well. There is something different about this outreach this year. God has been working on me and i am really enjoying this OR. It makes so much of a difference when your thinking is straight! ha-ha I have been so happy and i can see a huge difference!

Things to be praying for...The health of the team, also unity. Please pray for a girl on our team who is having a hard time with different things on outreach. Salvations-we have seen a lot already but alway good to pray for more! Thanks! write me back if you can. it is always good to hear from you as well ;)

FEET Staff 2010

For the last month I have been getting ready for Feet to start. The program started on July 14th! All the participants are here and are all excited to begin! There are seven participants and five staff. There are six different nations represented! Tomasi from Fiji, Marcus and Daniel from Sweden, Sephora from Switzerland, Faylisha from England, Richelle from Holland, Natasha, Jessica, Phyllis, Arianna, Julie, and I are all from the states. Our welcome party was the night before, full of getting-to-know-you games and snacks! I am very excited about this team, they seem to be meshing well!
Our first day went really well! Our schedule was full of orientations, registration, and teachings. That was only the first day! Our fun day out was a lot of fun too! This was to show them the city and how to use the transportation. We ate Dim Sum, the traditional Chinese breakfast, and lots of other fun things! Next week we will see what each person is good at, dance or drama. After that we all will start learning our part in each dance or drama.
We have one month to the day here in Hong Kong. A very busy four weeks then we will start out on Aug. 14th for our outreach! The first country we go to is the Philippines! This will be for about two weeks. Then we fly back to hk (Hong Kong) to fly to Nepal! We will be there for about three an a half weeks. After that we head to India for three and a half weeks as well! Our last country to visit on feet will be to Vietnam for ten days! I have not yet been to Vietnam so I am very excited to see what their culture is like. The end of Oct we will be getting back to HK to finish up Feet around Nov. 1st.

Although there won’t be much time to rest because I will be leaving to Europe for a Communications team on Nov. 5th! Most of the Feet staff will be going plus a few more that are on staff here at the base. The countries we will visit in Europe are England, Belgium, and Germany in that order. Two weeks in England then one week each for the others, arriving back to HK on Dec. 4th. Some of you were asking how much this trip will be. The cost is going to be around $1500. This is a really good price for traveling around Europe from a month! I am not sure if this is including the airfare or not. I will let you know more details as I get them.
As for Feet outreach, one of the places we are going, is back up in to the mountains in Jumla Nepal! This year I know more of what to expect then last time! I am very excited to go back and see what God has done in the villages we visited.
This team seems to be very excited about outreach and are open to what God has planned for them! I am enjoying the people on this team and I believe that God is going to do amazing and wonderful things through them! WhooHoo!

Things to pray for: Unity in our team, Airline tickets to be available for all of us, and that I would continue to go deeper with God. Also pray that I would be thinking positively. Thanks everyone!
